One week ago today, I took a pregnancy test after have many early pregnancy symptoms. It came back negative and I was quite shocked. Was it too early? Was I making it up in my head that I was pregnant? Or maybe my period was just a week late for the heck of it. It wasn't until the next morning, Wednesday the 28th of August when I went to take another test. I had kept the one from the day before, and when I looked at it just because, the line had appeared. I was pregnant. Although the line was very faint, I had a million emotions running through my head. Your dad was already at school, so I instantly picked up the phone and when he answered I said, "Michael, I'm pregnant!" I think he was just as shocked as I was. I had some doubts because the line was so faint, so I picked up the phone and called my doctor, Dr. Thompson. I told his nurse what had happened, and she said to come in to get tested. Until 5pm that day, I was filled with anxiety of what the results would be. They took a urine sample, and sure enough, the test was positive. I was going to be a mother, your mother. Michael was going to be a father, your father. We were going to be parents, your parents. I was overwhelmed with love and compassion towards you already, and to our Heavenly Father for blessing me with you.
After leaving the doctor that day, I went to Walmart to buy little onesies and some other crafty things to make to give to your grandparents. Boy were they going to be shocked! Here is how they turned out.
The one on the left is for my parents. And the one on the right is for his parents.
My parents were shocked, and I think they are still in shock.
His mom cried, and his dad didn't believe us at first.
All in all, they are all very excited and thrilled as we are.
Now onto the reality of this pregnancy. Some of the symptoms I have experience so far include:
-Round ligament pain (by far the worst!)
-Fatigue
-Little bit of morning sickness (although it mostly occurs at night)
Your dad is just as excited as I am. He often wakes up in the morning and kisses my stomach. He also likes to talk to my stomach, even though whatever he is babbling about is annoying, I apologize for that. He told me the other day he doesn't want to wish time away, but he just wants you to be here to hold you. Needless to say we are both ecstatic to have you here.
May 1st, 2014 can't get here soon enough!
We love you tons and tons!
Love, Mommy & Daddy
